A lot of people find Christmas a hard time of year. We are often led to believe that people fall into two broad camps – those who love it and those who detest it. When the truth is more like the vast majority fall somewhere in the middle.
Some aspects we love, others we could easily live without, especially the constant barrage of advertisements telling how we all need the next new gizmo.
To blatantly steal a line from a well know animal rescue billboard – “a painting is not just for Christmas”. It’ll keep giving joy all year round.
Paradoxically, it’s something you’ll find yourself growing into rather than tiring of. Come March, April, the relationship is still very much in its infancy. Just ensure that you hang it somewhere you can see it easily and allow your mind to ponder, even wander.
There’s a lot of you tied up in that work you chose to live with, invest in. You’ve now entered the conversation and your obliged to talk, even if its only in silent whispers and the only listener in the room is the painting itself.
It’s a mirror of sorts that reflects back what you give out. Which is why I hate violent play station games, it’s the 180 degree opposite of what a work of real art can achieve.
So put the play station games back on the shop shelf and instead hit the browse button here, and take the first step on a life long journey
